Which Aspect Ratio Should You Choose?

16:9 is the aspect ratio of most LCD/Plasma TVs on the market today. HDTV is generally broadcast in 16:9. Most DVDs and BluRays display at a wider aspect ratio, which means if you watch them on a 16:9 display, you will see a black bar across the top and bottom of the screen (the image won't fill the whole screen). Cinemascope is the extra wide aspect ratio you usually see at the cinemas. Most DVDs and BluRay discs are now released in this format, so if you plan to watch a lot of movies, this could be a wise investment. With Cinemascope, you can attain that true home cinema experience, that immersive feeling just like at the cinemas. Watch movies the way the director intended!
